Great news to all the Filipino fans of Hollywood spy films, Bourne series. Twenty to forty percent of the fourth sequel entitled, The Bourne Legacy will be shot in different locations around the Philippines.
The Bourne films are a series of action thriller spy films based on the character Jason Bourne, a former CIA assassin suffering from extreme memory loss, created by author Robert Ludlum. All three of Ludlum’s novels were adapted for the screen, featuring Matt Damon as the titular character in each.
The Bourne Trilogy starred Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. The first three films are “The Bourne Identity”, “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatum”.
The production team of the latest installment in the Bourne series is set to head off to the Philippines to shoot for about a month in different locations within Metro Manila and some parts of the Philippines. There are speculations that the team will start shooting in a week or two from now. There is no confirmation as to the exact dates of the filming however, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino revealed that the movie will be shot in these locations/settings:
2. Navotas Fishport
3. Marikina Market (San Andres Market)
4. Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard
5. Ayala Avenue, Makati
6. Nagtahan, (Pasay Taft)
7. Jones Bridge
According to the reports, there will be a car chase scene along Rotonda, Pasay Taft; motorcycle chase scene in Jones Bridge, Binondo Manila; a helicopter scene over Pasig River; and the ending is set in the beautiful Palawan.
Director and screenwriter Tony Gilroy had chosen Philippines as location for The Bourne Legacy.
